RIDE THROUGH THE NIGHT

Space expanding

Space expanding

Ride through the night until the day

Ride through the night now you’re on your way

Ride through the night the hour’s getting late

Until you find your way back home

Keep running but you know you can’t run away

Can’t fight it but you’ll live to fight another day

Keep going but you never want to go astray

Because now you’re on your own

Ride through the night until the day

Ride through the night now you’re on your way

Ride through the night the hour’s getting late

Until you find your way back home

Space expanding

Space expanding

Space expanding

Space expanding

Ride through the night until the day

Ride through the night now you’re on your way

Ride through the night the hour’s getting late

Until you find your way back home

Win Some, Lose Some

I’m sticking to my story

Back when I was young my dad he told me something

He said “listen up and I’ll tell you what,

It’s not that hard to be happy when the day is done,

I’m only gonna say it once:

You win some you lose some, it’s just the way it goes, son”

I wanted to discover what kind of man I was

But I met some crazy mama with a smoking gun

And I got stung

But I still love New York City in the morning sun

And I love the sky above

You win some you lose some, it’s just the way it goes, son

You win some you lose some, it’s just the way it goes, son

Wait a minute, wait a minute now, I’m in it to win it

Wait a minute now, better get in it

You win some, you win some, you lose some

You win some, you win some, you lose some too

You win some, you win some, you lose some

You win some, you win some, you lose some too

Imaginary Lines

Went searching for myself to find the curious fruit upon the vine,

Walked in the woods the stars were bright and near

I chanced upon her with no sound she led me deeper through strange ground,

Poured a glass, I drank it down and all was clear

Just imagine my surprise, this was no dream I realized

I felt the air was rising underneath

I turned and asked how can this be, she said that here’s no gravity,

Relax and soon you will be floating free

The rules don’t apply, here the rules don’t apply

You can do what you want the rules don’t apply

When I awoke I was through a door, the only thing I knew for sure

Was I was different than before i stayed

The edge was blurred on reality, the forms had merged, tension released

Only out of chaos can order be made

Just imagine my surprise, innocence is in the eyes

When a soul with a soul entwines

We hear the consequence of rhyme distort the melting clocks of time

as we cross imaginary lines

The rules don’t apply, here the rules don’t apply

We can do what we want the rules don’t apply

And if the rules don’t apply then the rules don’t apply

You can do what you want here on the other side

Then all i knew became reversed spring to winter seasons turned

Rivers ran up mountainsides and rain returned to the sky

And all the while my senses burned, it was just a glimpse into the world

Unknowable to ever learn just like the heart of the girl

The rules don’t apply, she can do what she wants

The rules don’t apply

No, the rules don’t apply, the rules don’t apply

We can do what we want

Barometric Pressure (Here comes The Rain)

It’s building up

Tension’s higher than it was before

We’re holding on

Under all the pressure mount some more

It’s breaking up

You can see a crack in the support

The air has changed here comes the rain

It’s happening

When the shadows over us increase

Let it begin

And there is no end without release

The air has changed here comes the rain, the rain

We’re holding on

‘Till the storm has come and passed and gone

I’m not as strong

I need you standing there and latching on

The air has changed here comes the rain, the rain

the rain

IDYLLWILD FLOWER

In my dreams, in the night I will see you by and by

And in the flash of the morning light, I’ve got my heart’s delight

Oh you would see if you open your mind something rare to find

My Idyllwild flower, Idllywild flower, My Idyllwild flower, Idyllwild flower sing my song

Beat by the rain, kissed by the sun, in the whole world there’s just one

‘Cause I’ve looked far, I’ve looked wide, high upon the mountainside

And underneath the open sky is the only place I find

My Idyllwild flower, Idllywild flower, my Idyllwild flower, Idyllwild flower sing my song

You’ve got to hold on for me right now

My feet can’t seem to find the ground

Little Darlin,’ darlin’ please take me with you when you leave

It feels like we could open the floodgates and set the river free

My Idyllwild flower, Idllywild flower, My Idyllwild flower, Idyllwild flower sing my song

On the Grind

The good Lord willing I’ll see you when I do

There’s just a few things that I hold to be true

I’m a man of conviction but I need something I can understand

So I keep it simple, I’m a peaceful loving man

I’m on the grind holding steady

I’m steady on all night long

I’m on the grind holding steady I’m steady on all night long

History is by the winners

That’s something that all “great men” knew

There’s no sleep for the sinners

So tell me has your heart been true

I’m like rolling thunder coming out of the clear blue sky

So if you want to know what time it is you can set your watch to mine

I’m on the grind holding steady

I’m steady on all night long

I’m on the grind holding steady I’m steady on all night long

Well is it tragedy or comedy

Well I’m gonna let you decide

I got to keep on keep on keep on whether I be wrong or right

I’m on the grind holding steady

I’m steady on all night long

I’m on the grind holding steady

I’m steady on all night long

My Heart (Time Lapse)

I’m a windowpane in the spring rain

You’re a radio with nowhere to go

And when the stars at night reach us with distant light

Born from another life I know

My heart my heart my heart my heart my heart

My heart my heart my heart my heart my heart’s

Steady like a strum, wondering what’s to come

I’m an old guitar waiting in the dark

You can pick me up or keep me for good luck

And you’re the melody that will come back to me

Freed from my memory that was

My heart my heart my heart my heart my heart

My heart my heart my heart my heart my heart’s

Locked in like a drum, counting time from one

Constant as the sun, ready here it comes

I’m the city skyline as the clouds go by

You’re the days that pass in time lapse

The cars keep coming in waves, speed up until they make

An electric bouquet, so fast

My heart my heart my heart my heart my heart

My heart my heart my heart my heart my heart’s

Steady like a strum, wondering what’s to come

My heart my heart my heart my heart my heart

My heart my heart my heart my heart my heart’s

Feels like new again more than it’s ever been

I don’t want it to end

Feel Like Moving

Feel like moving yes I do I feel like moving feel and it’s true

It would be better if I knew you feel like moving too

Today has been such a long sad day and my mind is a million miles away

We’re passing towns and waiting for night in the midnight hour under the hot city lights

From the east coast I was bound on the southside of some New England town, across the Rockies mama look around for me

Stopped to grease these broken wheels so far from home you can’t know how it feels

When we hit trouble find out who’s our friend need some help who’s got some to lend

Feel like moving and it’s true if you’ll be starting something new

Just remember you can’t lose what you never had

Once in a while thinking it’s all right, then sometimes think I might lose my mind

If it’s wild you’ve got a heart like mine and our kind don’t stay still too long

So let’s get down I’ll hold on tight, we’ll keep on going till the broad daylight

It’s like the best thing I ever saw when I find my sweet cherry ball

Feel like moving this is the one I’ve been waiting this will be fun

Now we’re coming and I wonder if you feel like moving too

Some got queens and some got kings, I’ve got aces and that’s the best thing

Open my eyes at the crack of noon now I’m going away but I’ll be back soon

My girl Elsie where did she go she loved me fast and left me just as slow

She’s the sweetest girl I know oh won’t you come back to me

We come coasting into town on fumes, my coat is torn I’ve got the hard road blues

It not easy always saying goodbye sometimes I want to sit down and cry

Once in a while thinking it’s all right, then sometimes think I might lose my mind

If it’s wild you’ve got a heart like mine and our kind don’t stay still too long

I feel like moving it takes it’s toll but there’s no stopping when you’re on a roll sometimes I’ve got to shake my soul until I feel like moving on, on

Ballad of Wiley Jones

Wiley Jones was a friend of mine

Passed this way from time to time

He said, “I love my life and I don’t want to die

But I’d lay it on the line for any friend of mine”

You can open any door if you’ve got the key

He said, “a friend in need is a friend indeed,

Better look before you leap, the best things in life are free

If you do you’re gonna see you’ve got everything you need”

Wiley never had too much to give

But he’ll give you all he’s got that’s just how he lives

He said, “I’m going with the flow ’cause like the caged bird I know

You take what you love the most and let it go”

He sang all day and he played all night

But lightning never strikes in the same place twice

Better late than never when the road goes on forever

It’s any port in stormy weather

Wiley Jones was a friend of mine

Passed this way from time to time

He said, “I love my life and I don’t want to die

But I’d lay it on the line for any friend mine,

Any friend of mine.”

He was a friend of mine,

Was a good friend of mine

Nothing New Under the Sun

After talking to you i could see we’re on the level

We stood in a daze but knew what time it was

The same could be said for when my hair was dishevelled

And I woke up in the bed and I didn’t know what time it was

Well that’s the way it will be and the way it’s always been

It’s the story of love and when it’s done it’s done

You see it happened before and it will happen again

You can call it deja vu but there’s nothing new under the sun

Well they burned to the ground all the cities in sight

And mobilized entire nations

They launched a thousand ships with a sacrifice

Watched the fall and decline of a civilization

Yes history repeats and i don’t know when

But one day there’s a flood that’s gonna come

if it happened before it will happen again

Only feels like deja vu ‘cause there’s nothing new under the sun

Under the sun, the sun

There’s nothing new under the sun, under the sun

There’s nothing new under the sun, under the sun

Under the sun

Mama’s Got a Lot of Love

Shake me rattle me roll me rock me

Hold me in your arms and don’t ever stop

I don’t know but why not show me, ain’t that a lot of love,

Ain’t that a lot of love

I’ve been waiting, over-staying, stuck in the middle, hesitating

Now something new is coming through you like angels singing hallelujah

Shake me rattle me roll me rock me

Hold me in your arms and don’t ever stop

I don’t know but why not show me, ain’t that a lot of love,

Ain’t that a lot of love

You can’t go wrong with what’s a little stronger, it’s gonna be just a bit longer

I see what’s coming, I’ve been strumming all night long then I come running

Shake me rattle me roll me rock me

Hold me in your arms and don’t ever stop

I’ve got nothing now you give me something ain’t that a lot of love,

Mama’s got a lot of love

Now my clothes are torn but baby you’re warm and your love feels just like a storm

And now it’s snowing, wind is blowing past the dawn and it’s still going

Shake me rattle me roll me rock me

Hold me in your arms and don’t ever stop

I don’t know but why not show me, ain’t that a lot of love,

Ain’t that a lot of love

No it won’t wane it hits me like an airplane speeding off down the runway

I understand you’ll take my hand and show me the lights when I come in for a landing

Shake me rattle me roll me rock me

Hold me in your arms and don’t ever stop

I’ve got nothing now you give me something ain’t that a lot of love,

Mama’s got a lot of love

Mama’s got a lot of love

Falling Backwards Through Time

Falling backwards through time

Lost yourself in these faces going by

Falling backwards through time

‘Till I’m just a spark in an eye

Go on get up pick yourself off the ground you got to look around

Gather up what it is you found you can never tell which way you’re bound

The night has come, now we got a way to go play it on the radio

Cross the country take it slow you want to stop and see the sights cause you never know

Falling backwards through time

Lost yourself in these faces going by

Falling backwards through time

‘Till there’s nothing but an empty sunrise

I see you there we’re packing up the car this time we’re going far

The back of my memory is where you are just following your lucky star

Along the way I wonder where it started from and what is to come

A sailing boat in the setting sun soon will be gone when the day is done

Falling backwards through time

Lost yourself in these faces going by

Falling backwards through time

‘Till there’s nothing but an empty sunrise

Rewind everybody, rewind

Rewind, everybody rewind

Rewind, everybody rewind

Rewind, everybody rewind

Forsythia Fills The Wilderness

Well I made a lot of friends I always did
But I never looked pretty when I was a kid
Somewhere on the way I lost myself
I woke up one morning and I was someone else
Now looking in the mirror I can recognize
The same face that my mother gave me in these eyes
When I feel like I’m never gonna make it home
And I’m out here all alone

Forsythia fills the wilderness
With her I am blessed
When she imitates the sun it’s flattery
‘Cause she knows Spring’s coming and she’s eager to please
She’s the light at the end of the tunnel and the first heartbeat
Wild like a child she’s nature’s baby
A full moon and a hope chest
Forsythia fills the wilderness

Oh, winter let go, won’t you now?
You put a deep freeze on the south
Now I don’t know what I’m gonna do
But every time she comes around I’m gonna think of you

Forsythia fills the wilderness
With her I am blessed
When she imitates the sun it’s flattery
‘Cause she knows Spring’s coming and she’s eager to please
She’s the light at the end of the tunnel and the first heartbeat
Wild like a child she’s nature’s baby
A full moon and a hope chest
Forsythia fills the wilderness
Forsythia fills the wilderness

When The Night Comes Calling You

Its last man standing and winner take all and I know there’s trouble brewing inside you that I can’t understand So let’s try and hold on to what it is that we love if we can When the night comes calling you you’ll be on your way when the night comes calling you little bird fly away, fly away

WILD RIDE
Don’t want to be a martyr unless you want
don’t want to get too crazy unless you want
you take the turns baby a little too fast
i never learned baby to never look back

Don’t want to be another casualty of fun
i wasn’t worried about it until I was
the fact that I’m still standing is a good sign
I don’t know what to say except that was a wild ride

You see the world around you is a rainbow
to me it was black and white until you showed
’cause I’ve been spinning baby got a dizzy head
why are we stopping baby? let’s go again

Don’t want to be another casualty of fun
i wasn’t worried about it until I was
the fact that I’m still standing is a good sign
I don’t know what to say except that was a wild ride

I’m not complaining baby I understand
I’m flying high but I’ve got to land
I can’t remember when I had two feet on the ground
You will discover what goes up must come down

Don’t want to be another casualty of fun
i wasn’t worried about it until I was
the fact that I’m still standing is a good sign
I don’t know what to say except that was a wild ride

WRONGED MAN
I’m a wronged Man, a wronged man, say what you will
I’m a Wronged Man, a wronged man, I’m fit to kill

every woman that I’ve ever loved was half insane
i never thought there could be so much grief or so much pain
I’m becoming unpredictable so it would seem
I’m dangerous if you corner me

I’m a wronged Man, a wronged man, say what you will
I’m a Wronged Man, a wronged man, I’m fit to kill

I’m desperate, only time will tell
if it takes me to the ends of the earth or the gates of hell
they stole everything i ever loved, that i ever had
is it any wonder now that i turned bad

I’m a wronged Man, a wronged man, say what you will
I’m a Wronged Man, a wronged man, I’m fit to kill

A Path Paved With Roses

A boy can dream, but what a pitiful sight to see,
lonely as he can be and he knows it
she’s out of reach, but what a sad and lovely sight to see
when she’s walking away on a path that’s paved with roses

She said “I don’t mind if I get lost until tomorrow,
maybe somewhere far away where petals fall like snow
and the water follows down a path paved with roses“

She silhouettes the horizon and waits right there for the night
his heart was forever rising like a searchlight in the sky
she was born into luxury on the opposite side of town
he sees through the trees in the moonlight only what she shows him
then she said “alright, come on, I’ll really show you something, it’s down on 5th Avenue”
and she led him away on a path paved with roses

She said “I don’t mind if we get lost until tomorrow,
maybe somewhere far away where petals fall like snow
and the water follows down a path paved with roses“

It Ain’t Over ‘Til The Credits Roll
The opening scene’s a shot of me on the screen coming into this life And nobody knows how the story will go but there’ll surely be love and strife
Cut to the present day and I’ve lost my way, wondering how I ended up here
Piling up regrets but still making bets that it’s gonna be my year

Going the wrong way down a one-way street I know deep down in my soul I’ll be searching for that girl ’til the end of the world it ain’t over ’til the credits roll
it ain’t over, it ain’t over ’til the credits roll

Close up on my face when I remember the place that I first saw you I’ll be walking these empty streets until the lonely night is through seems like there’s no hope I’m up against the ropes but just when you count me out
cue the music to start and the hero’s heart was suddenly never in doubt

Going the wrong way down a one way street I know deep down in my soul I’ll be searching for that girl ’til the end of the world it ain’t over ’til the credits roll
it ain’t over, it ain’t over ’til the credits roll

I might just yet walk off into the sunset or maybe slowly fade to black
whatever it will be the end is bittersweet because there ain’t no turning back
life is a race like a fast car chase with buildings blowing up everywhere
and all you can do is try and make it through and when the smoke clears be standing there

Going the wrong way down a one-way street I know deep down in my soul I’ll be searching for that girl ’till the end of the world it ain’t over ’til the credits roll
it ain’t over, it ain’t over ’til the credits roll

Choppy Water
still dreaming, still in love with this town
even when those dreams all come crashing down
in a million pieces like raindrops on the ground
now they’re falling, falling all around

beware of fake fakers, big breakers,
time takers, backstabbers and all oh oh
I got to be better, stay stronger, keep steady,
be a navigator oh oh through choppy water
choppy water

I’m waking up to blue skies coming out
opening my new eyes shaking off my doubt
reborn from the water one foot then the other
makes me want to, makes me want to shout

beware of fake fakers, big breakers,
time takers, backstabbers and all oh oh
I got to be better, stay stronger, keep steady
be a navigator oh oh through choppy water
choppy water
through choppy water

Song For Every Sunset
When winter’s whipping in pale as the dawn

and the sun’s hiding underground until night has gone

and the land looks like God forgot where we would be

will you be as you were in my memory?

let there be a song for every sunset, a moon for every morning

a rhyme for every river on the road going homeward

let there be an ode to every ocean, a tune for every traveler,

a sign for every seeker when the journey is over

and with the snows came the essence of light

and left us a canvas as blank as it’s white

there Solomon and Celia once passed nearby

and with them I painted colors we found in the sky

let there be a song for every sunset, a moon for every morning

a rhyme for every river on the road going homeward

let there be an ode to every ocean, a tune for every traveler,

a sign for every seeker when the journey is over

maybe there’s nothing not meant to be

maybe we’re made of just what we can see

and maybe the time will come when the hearth fire burns

and you will come back to me when that day returns

let there be a song for every sunset, a moon for every morning

a rhyme for every river on the road going homeward

let there be an ode to every ocean, a tune for every traveler,

a sign for every seeker when the journey is over

The Day The World Was Born
Jamie moved out to Georgia with the past in the rearview mirror
an old guitar in the back seat and the sky above was clear
The windows all were rolled down and the sunlight felt so warm
there was nothing to know but he was ready to go the day the world was born

Katie was living in L.A. she said I want to get out of here,
made a promise to herself she’d be gone this time next year

As the plane was taking off for Atlanta in the distance was a thunderstorm
She put her headphones on, turned up her favorite song the day the world was born

the day the world was born (was Born)

the day the world was born

Jamie ran into some trouble, no, things didn’t go as planned

he found out the hard way what it means to understand

he was playing guitar downtown in the city with his heart feeling torn

Katie walked in, her eyes met his the day the world was born

Well they bought a big bus and drove it all across the country wide

Making music night by night from one to the other side

they pulled off by the ocean when the tires were all but worn

and looking around it was home they found the day the world was born

the day the world was born (was Born)

the day the world was born

the day the world was born (was Born)

the day the world was born

The Vengeful Servant
In the House of Ashenah lived a vengeful servant

where there once was gratitude only hate remained

though his purpose he concealed wherever he went

in his heart a darkness grew that could not be contained

The day had come to reclaim all he felt was owed him

the master’s daughter would be wed and all their wealth displayed

remembering the bitter taste of indignity they showed him

he swore that he’d collect the debt and this night would be repaid

some are born to sweet delight, some to bear their brother’s burden

sometimes the only justice is the kind which you must take

though the end is still unknown of this you can be certain

fate is blind and fortune’s bold, the choice is yours to make

What It Is About Her

I shake my head and laugh out loud
just keep telling myself don’t be stupid now
But my mind keeps coming back to her it’s clear
and each time the world around me disappears

And I know I don’t know what it is about her
But I know I want to know everything
And I know I don’t know what it is about her
But then nothing in my head has been making any sense since I let her in
since I let her in

I try and stay calm about it
but I’m acting kind of strange, no doubt about it
like seeing myself from a distance
or some out of body experience

And I know I don’t know what it is about her
But I know I want to know everything
And I know I don’t know what it is about her
But then nothing in my head has been making any sense since I let her in
since I Iet her in

there is no reason for it
this is instinct
this is chemicals
this is impulse
this is currents flowing in an endless circle

While The Days Go On Back Home

You can mark sacred ground or be lost and found but that road you go down alone

I was standing tall oh how the mighty fall when you get the call to roam

I was high and low, left behind, right and wrong, I was treated kind On the winding road you have to take it slow while the days go on back home

I’ve been twisted, turned oh but I never learned until your bird had flown

Now what will I do when the cold comes through and I’m out all alone I was high and low, left behind, right and wrong, I was treated kind On the winding road you have to take it slow while the days go on back home

If it’s heaven or hell honey who can tell please just sound a mellow tone

As i come around because you know I’m bound, yes It’s all I’ve found I’ve known

I was high and low, left behind, right and wrong, I was treated kind On the winding road you have to take it slow while the days go on back home

Radio Earth

Ever since the dawn of man we’ve been staring up into the sky
Now we’re searching and turning dials but static is all we find
We’re sending signals and broadcasting out into the unknown
But we’re just shooting in the dark and wondering if we’re really alone

Are we coming in clear?
Is there anyone near?
Are we coming in clear?

Is there anyone near?

This is Radio Earth

It’s such an empty feeling to know the stars are so far away

As we maintain our solitude in the vastness of endless space

It may be so that we’ll never know what it means to call somewhere else home

It’s a cold universe to be living in on our own

Are we coming in clear?
Is there anyone near?
Are we coming in clear?

Is there anyone near?

This is Radio Earth

A coded message from Arecebo, sending out radio waves

There could be somewhere that exists with no war, disease, or pain

They may be out there listening now to a song from a long time ago
Tuning in to the sound of ‘go Johnny go go go’

Are we coming in clear?
Is there anyone near?
Are we coming in clear?

Is there anyone near?

This is Radio Earth

STARLIGHT CHILD

If you can ride with the waves you’ll find what’s beyond the sea

If you can roll with the hills you’ll catch the dew on the dogwood trees

If you can change with the seasons it will be easy to be free

You are a starlight child

You only have to be willing, don’t need a reason why

If you can wait ’til the evening underneath the sky
It’s like a beautiful midnight reverie that’s going by
You are a starlight child

Starlight child you were born in summer
You’re the same as I am and we were made to wander

We can stay and dance a while the night will soon be over

And you are a starlight child

Intoxicating splendor just to be alive
I can never remember until I step inside
It’s like a beautiful midnight reverie that’s going by
You are a starlight child

Starlight child, you were born in summer
You’re the same as I am and we were made to wander

We can stay and dance a while the night will soon be over

And you are a starlight child

Can’t Love Somebody

the moon is shining, stars are bright

it’s shaping up to be a beautiful night

it should be easy to get into

but I can’t seem to get a read on you

you play it close to the vest

what’s going through your head is anyone’s guess

you keep your guard up right from the start

but honey you can’t love somebody without losing your heart

was there somebody here before?

was that who made you scared to feel anymore?

We fit together perfectly

It’s killing me to think of what could be

you play it close to the vest

what’s going through your is head’s anyone’s guess

you keep your guard up right from the start

but honey you can’t love somebody without losing your heart

there’s a place in my arms I wish that you could fill

but If I keep waiting I’ll just be wishing still

you play it close to the vest

what’s going through your head is anyone’s guess

you’ve got your guard up right from the start

but honey you can’t love somebody without losing your heart

Missionary Ridge

I can see the smoke from the back of the factory rise

A sleepy southern river that’s as old as the hills goes by
When the sun is setting and I hear all the cars go past
I can’t help but thinking is there anything meant to last?

I was just a boy with his head filled with make-believe
Playing toy soldiers in the yard until it’s time to sleep
Trusting that it was the way it was because you told me so

But anything that starts has to end when you let it go

On Missionary Ridge, it was the night of the meteor shower
Standing on the edge keeping watch we waited for the hour
And everything was different in a moment and the world was new
My eyes were filled with falling lights and wonder too

you take what you love most in the world and protect it

sometimes too much worry, in the end, does the opposite

it’s easy to look back and say I wish I’d done it differently

but life only moves forward you can’t think that way and be free

Swallowed by the city now I’m hoping it won’t come to that

been thinking about the time that I’ve lost and I can’t get back

lately, it can seem like my memory’s playing tricks on me

in wave after wave like an ocean of infinity

On Missionary Ridge it was the night of the meteor shower

Standing on the edge keeping watch we waited for the hour
And everything was different in a moment and the world was new
My eyes were filled with falling lights and wonder too

And wonder too . . .

Summer

There’s a bar on the shore where blows a tropical wind

Men weary from the war come wandering in

All those who pass that way tell of a girl by the sea

And of a face could set a soldier’s heart free

they call her Summer and if you love her

you’ll always remember what might have been

She walks the beach alone with a faraway stare

the smell of salt in the foam wind an in her auburn hair

there’s sadness in her eyes and a ring on her hand

you may hold her at night but you won’t understand

they call her Summer and if you love her

you’ll always remember what might have been

what might have been

When she first saw him coming in from the storm

he was smiling bravely in his uniform

now no one knows where he’s gone

such is a soldiers end

you’ll see her laugh with the men

but she’ll never give her heart away again

they call her Summer and if you love her

you’ll always remember what might have been

what might have been

they call her Summer

and if you love her

you’ll always remember what might have been

what might have been

what might have been

what might have been

what might have been

Waiting For The Waves To Reach The Shore

I remember the days when I was carefree
Did just what I wanted to and life was easy
Now I Carry this weight that’s always around
I never got used to it and I can’t put it down

So I’m Taking my time like I did before
And easing my worried mind
Just Waiting for the waves to reach the shore

Trouble is real and And heartache is too
Everyone told me so,  it all came true

So I’m going back to where I was before
Listening to the sound of the ocean

and just waiting for the waves to reach the shore

I’m waiting
Waiting for the waves
Waiting for the waves to reach
Waiting for the waves to reach the shore

I’m waiting
Waiting for the waves
Waiting for the waves to reach
Waiting for the waves to reach the shore

I’m waiting
Waiting for the waves
Waiting for the waves to reach
Waiting for the waves to reach the shore

It’s Easy To Give Up (Don’t Give Up Too Easy)

“It might have been” are the saddest words I’ve heard

just when you think it can’t it always gets worse
if you want something to believe in there’s nothing for sure
but a life with no regrets is the only one worth living for

it’s easy to give up but don’t give up too easy

it’s easy to give up but don’t give up too easy

just like Ram Das there is only now
gotta put down the weight you’re carrying somehow
it hurts to let go and it’s hard to believe

the only dance there is is to a different drum you got to let your flag fly free

it’s easy to give up but don’t give up too easy

it’s easy to give up but don’t give up too easy

you can’t run away from what might have passed

but you got to live each day like it was your last
this world will break you, ain’t no denying that
but when the only thing to fear is fear there ain’t no turning back

it’s easy to give up but don’t give up too easy

it’s easy to give up but don’t give up too easy

it’s easy to give up but don’t give up too easy

it’s easy to give up but don’t give up too easy

Vanishing Skies

Take my name I don’t need it, I will stay here while I can
empty shells along the beaches, shadows lengthen again
even still my understanding is there are many things that I don’t know
hey man, don’t you wonder was it like this long ago?

This is the time in human history we’re under vanishing skies
watching changes through pixelating screens with casual eyes
this is the motion of the ocean, this is the sunrise
the fading embers will remember vanishing skies
All this buzzing, going round in circles, feel gravity strain
Come to pieces, infinite atoms like these drops of rain
chasing phantoms, staring deep inside the machine

we’re back to the beginning, nothing from nothing, wipe the slate clean
This is the time in human history we’re under vanishing skies
watching changes through pixelating screens with casual eyes
this is the motion of the ocean, this is the sunrise
the fading embers will remember vanishing skies

In My Mind I’m Already Gone

My words they have no meaning, I touch but I don’t feel
i’m in another place, my presence isn’t real
I’m somewhere far away, maybe down the coast
My body may be here but I’m fading like a ghost

something is coming, time is moving on
in my mind I’m already gone
Looking through the window, catch my reflection in my eye

as crimson clouds are rolling in the changing sky
now everything is different than a moment before
I can’t tell you when it happened, it’s not the same anymore
something is coming, time is moving on
in my mind I’m already gone
